What I work with
Production, not familiarity.
Everything below has run in production on a system somebody depended on, which is a narrower list than the one I could put on a CV. Where something is research rather than production experience, it is not on here.
AWS and distributed systems
Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, DynamoDB single-table, SQS and SNS with dead-letter queues, API Gateway, AppSync, Cognito, S3, CloudFront, Aurora, ECS and Fargate, CDK, CloudFormation, cross-account STS. Transactional outbox for exactly-once delivery, idempotency, circuit breakers and backpressure.
Languages and frameworks
TypeScript as the primary language, Node.js, Python, React and Next.js, Fastify, Express, GraphQL through Apollo and AppSync, REST and WebSockets. The four products above are TypeScript end to end.
Data and search
PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL including zero-downtime engine upgrades run across staging, UAT and production. DynamoDB, MySQL, Redis, Typesense and OpenSearch. Sub-50ms catalogue search across a six-figure number of live records.
Reliability and observability
New Relic with alerts and dashboards as code, CloudWatch, Sentry, PagerDuty, Grafana. Out-of-hours on-call and live incident response on a revenue-critical platform, which is a different skill from building the dashboard.
Infrastructure as code and CI/CD
Terraform, Pulumi, Docker, GitHub Actions, Serverless Framework, Wrangler. Deploy pipelines cut from 45 minutes to under 5 across 40+ brands and four AWS regions.
Edge and AI
Cloudflare Workers and KV in production fronting a multi-venue e-commerce platform. Claude API through the Anthropic SDK and Bedrock, OpenAI SDK, RAG and vector search, agents, and eval harnesses for grading the output rather than assuming it.
